Would you like to spend a year working for nature and environmental protection? Do you want to actively help with BUND Nature Conservation? Then you have come to the right place: apply for a Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) with BN!
THE VOLUNTARY ECOLOGICAL YEAR(FÖJ) is one of the youth voluntary services. It offers young people between the ages of 17 and 26 the opportunity to actively engage in environmental protection and is recognized as an educational year.
The Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) is organized at our site by the sfd Bremen eV (www.sfd-bremen.de). The provider organizes the required 25 seminar days and is also the contact person for all matters relating to the FÖJ. Sustainability, climate and environmental protection are key aspects of the educational seminars.
We generally ask interested parties to contact the provider and inquire about the support concept.
Our FÖJ places are funded by the Senator for Climate Protection, Environment, Mobility, Urban Development and Housing and the BMFSFJ.
YOUR TASKS include helping with the coordination and support of our traveling exhibition, the planning and implementation of our nationwide events and projects, as well as PR and public relations work for the German Climate Foundation.
The tasks include helping with the planning, coordination and implementation of all our projects, as well as conducting training courses and looking after the foundation's website. You will also support the exhibition staff at Klimahaus® Bremerhaven 8° East in the exhibition, as well as the rest of the team as best you can.
Requirements
The FÖJ starts on September 1st of each year and ends on August 31st of the following year. You can apply from the beginning of February. The requirements for participation in the FÖJ are that you
- have completed full-time compulsory schooling - a specific school qualification is not required
- are younger than 27 years old - until the end of the FÖJ
- Interested in ecological tasks
- are prepared to commit yourself to an environmental and nature conservation project for a year.
In addition to the practical work at a placement site, there are five one-week educational seminars in which the FÖJ participants are given knowledge about ecological relationships by qualified speakers.
